Caml basics

Predicting the type and value of an expression, following definitions that hide one another, and using lazy operators and conversions. Chapter 1.

For each exercise, answer on paper first, then check in the ocaml interpreter.

We type, in this order:

let x = 2 ;;
let y = x * 3 ;;
let x = 5 ;;
y ;;
let x = 1 in let x = x + 1 in x * x ;;
x ;;
let a = 10 ;;
let a = 1 and b = a + 1 ;;
b ;;

Give the interpreter's answer to each line. Explain in particular the values of y and b.
